The Shepherd's Corner

Our Youth

We have two aspects of our "youth" ministry - Kid's Rock who are our young children; younger than Jr. High, and IMPACT which are our Jr. High (SMP) to College (kuliah) students. I'd like to talk to you about our IMPACT students and the name - IMPACT because I often still get asked about it.

Here goes: On any given Sunday we have 20-30 students in IMPACT. Just recently as I typed this we had 34 in our group. We are now meeting over in the community center by library park in Monrovia because all of our students (IMPACT & Kid's Rock) don't all fit in the church anymore - Praise God!

A number of months ago we came up with a new name for our older student group - IMPACT.

This name has a very deep and important meaning for us and we've been talking about it with our students hoping that it will not only be a "cool" name, but something that communicates important aspects of our faith and relationship with Christ. Over this month I hope to explain what each letter means so you can pray for us to experience God's presence as well as grow in our faith and love for our wonderful Savior and live out the meaning of IMPACT. Please pray for our students as they are the next generation who will continue to take the message of Christ to the world.

IMPACT stands for:
I - I am loved by God; M - to magnify His name, P - prepared to serve, A - anchored in His Word, C - called to community, T - to take His message of love to the world.

More to come. God bless - Pastor Steve
