On Tuesday, Jesus Our Lord came and took Oom John Oey home.  He has now moved into his new and better home, prepared by Jesus Himself.  John 14:2-3 records His promise to us, His children, “There are many rooms in my Father's house. I wouldn't tell you this unless it was true. I am going...

After a three-year hiatus, God’s willing, this year we will have our Thanksgiving retreat again.  God’s willing, I am planning to give a series of messages based on the Book of Job.  I don’t know about you, but I used to find this book to be difficult to comprehend.  By the grac...

Some of us can talk about our fathers for days while some can only talk about our fathers briefly.  However, there are some who cannot talk about our fathers at all, either because they were not present during the time we grew up or it’s simply too painful to talk about them.  On the con...

One of the greatest hymns ever written is “It is Well with My Soul.”  It is great not only for the message it conveys but also for the people who wrote the lyrics and composed the tune.  It was H.G. Spafford who wrote the lyrics.  He lost a fortune when the great Chicago fire cons...

Every time I carry Joshua, our eight-month-old grandson, he always turns his head toward me and studies my face. He does not do that to Santy because he is familiar with her; every week Santy comes and babysits him.  So, what do I do whenever he turns his head to me and studies my face?  [...

One of the misconceptions that we develop after being a Christian is that we should not make plans.  The reason is because we simply cannot.  It is God who makes plans for us, and we are to just follow them.  Well, it is true that God has plans for us and He expects us to […]...
