The Bible urges us to store our treasures in heaven –

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20

I’m not sure why you give what you give – why do you put the amount into the offering plate you do? Why support missionaries/mission trips? Why give financially to those in need?

Part of why I do it is out of obedience, out of love, out of gratitude, but another reason is that I view it as an investment – an investment in my eternity. It is a part of my ability to store up for myself treasures in heaven – to put away for my eternal retirement.

I wanted to take the time to stop and say, “Thank you!” for always being so generous. This year we will be taking roughly 15 college students & young adults to the largest student missions conference in the US – Urbana, where over 17,000 people will come together for 5 days in December to seek God, seek God’s wills for their futures, pray, and also be exposed to things God is doing all around the world and how we might be able to be a part of it.

What’s also exciting for me is that we have enough money left over from the Fiji mission trip last year to offer substantial scholarships to everyone going! Thank you for your generosity and I hope you realize that part of your giving isn’t only investing in others, but also in your eternity!
