The Shepherd's Corner

[:en]THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER

The Real Race

Isn’t our destination supposed to be God Himself? To become more connected to Him, His love, and His plans for our lives? As we are filled more & more with His love, wouldn’t that naturally overflow and fill the places we are at and the lives we’re connected to?

Paul says, “I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. (1 Cor. 9:27)

Stop for a second…take a moment…step back and

T H I N K

I you could think about your life as a race, your destination as God, your training as living this life in such a way as to please God, grow in our relationship with Him, and to impact the world, wouldn’t that be the most amazing experience in the world?

Who wouldn’t want to know God more, experience Him more, and leaving behind something meaningful when it’s time for us to leave this world?

Paul puts it in the right perspective – live your life in such a way that you follow the example of world class athletes training for their specialty, but you do it for eternal reasons – you do it for God in faith. Then one day when you stand face to face you will see that all of those choices and decisions will be rewarded and will never perish. Let’s run this race of life together for Him!

[:en]THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER Life is fragile. Like a vase, life can break into pieces. The sad thing is, not only do we have to spend time and energy—not to mention anguish—to pick up the pieces, there is also no guarantee that we can ever hold the same vase again. Some of us have been through [...

In our last Wednesday’s Bible study and prayer meeting someone shared a poignant insight.  He likened us to a mop in the hands of God.  A mop is to be used on the floor to clean up dirt and mess.  That’s the reason despite its cleaning purpose, a mop is not always clean.  As a […]...

THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER Moving is not entertaining but it can be enlightening. Our recent move allowed us to re-discover our belongings that had been buried somewhere. One of them was a picture that Santy and I took the moment we arrived in Hawaii for our honeymoon—almost 35 years ago—where we s...
