THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER

Psalm 1

Who is blessed?

Is it the person with great health, achieving success, being financially stable? Possibly, but Psalm 1 talks about the person God calls blessed -

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)

These verses help us to know that when we take a stand to live and walk in integrity, love God's Word, and spends time with God in His Word - we are blessed.

I wonder how often we pray for God to bless us or to bless others, but don't stop to think how God defines what being blessed is.

Now all of those other things mentioned in the first paragraph are all blessings, but if you had to choose between health, success, and riches or a life of integrity, a life that loves God's Word, and a life that spends time with God through His Word, which would you choose?

I hope that our hearts are captivated with God so much that we experience His riches blessings of integrity and commitment.

The other day, when I was goofing around with our grandchildren, one of them made a comment that made me very happy, “Kung Kung, you have a lot of hair.”  Trying to be modest, I corrected him, “No, I am already old; I do not have a lot of hair.”  It was, then, that he […]...
