THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER

God is humble. When He does something, He does not usually tell us. He just works behind the scene—quietly. When it is done, then can we see it! I am sure we all can appreciate what we see in our sanctuary and dining hall this Christmas season. These two rooms have been beautifully and artistically decorated. I am sure we all can also appreciate the food that we enjoyed on Christmas. No one was hungry; everyone was filled and satisfied.THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER

I am sure we all can appreciate what we see in our sanctuary and dining hall this Christmas season. These two rooms have been beautifully and artistically decorated. I am sure we all can also appreciate the food that we enjoyed on Christmas. No one was hungry; everyone was filled and satisfied.

These two are just some of the things that took place behind the scenes this Christmas. A lot of work and time were put into these endeavors but we didn’t see it when it was being prepared. We see it after it is done. That’s the way God works and you have followed God’s way of doing things. There are a myriad of other things that went into every service and every event but as usual, you always do it quietly. What you do—when no one is looking—is the test and the proof of your faithfulness and love to Jesus, the King of kings!

We will leave 2015 behind in a few days. For some, it will be remembered just as another year but for some, it will not be just another year. It will be a defining year—a year that stomps its feet on the ground of our lives. For some it will be a year in which we can look back and say with a sigh of relief, “At least it is now over and I can look forward to something better.” But for some, no relief yet! In all likelihood 2016 will be just the same experience.

Ravi Zacharias reminds us not to rely on experience, “By being preoccupied with mountaintop experiences or being overcome by the face of evil, the Christian robs himself or herself of the greater treasure of the Word of God ‘made more certain.’“ So, stand on God’s Word; hold on to it. Never let it go!
