On Wednesday at 6:45 pm our sister A-Fung went home to be with the Lord. She slipped into eternity gracefully, gently, and quietly. It was as if she was walking away—one little step at a time. And, after one last look at her family, she walked on to her Heavenly Home.

What she was in good health, so was she in sickness. In good health she did not like to complain; she had learned to accept what life brought. In sickness, she did not complain, either. She prayed for healing and wanted to be healed. Like the rest of us, she did not understand why she had to contract this illness and why she was not healed. But, she accepted it and told her family not to be sad.

The Bible never makes promise that it can’t deliver. The Bible never promises that we will never get sick or die. As a matter of fact the Bible never promises that we will be exempted from pain and suffering before we leave this temporal dwelling. But, this the Bible promises, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of those faithful to Him.” (Psalm 116:15)

God promises to treat the death of those faithful to Him preciously. You see, the death of those faithful to Him is like a jewel in His hands, so precious that He will treat it in a special way—He will hold His loved ones firmly and lovingly in His hands. He will never let them go from His Hands! They are just precious.

In times like these once again I am reminded of the words of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel. In paraphrase, “After I died, people would write, ‘Chuck Smith died.’ Do not write that. Instead, write, ‘Chuck Smith moved.’ “ I want to announce that on Wednesday our sister A-Fung has moved from the City of Duarte to the City of God.

A couple of weeks ago our sister Nani brought some plants to fill our beautiful garden. You do not know how many times people have stopped to admire and enjoy our garden. Every time they always make the same comment, “How beautiful!” I’d say that our church’s courtyard is one of the most bea...
