The Shepherd's Corner

THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER

Some time ago I shared with you about Linda, Santy’s childhood friend and about her illness. As you might recall she is undergoing treatment in Singapore. Last night Santy received good news that she is responding well to the alternative treatment she is receiving. The number has gone down from over 200 to over 20. Praise God!THE SHEPHERD’S CORNER

I also would like to update you with our brother, Ping Tiauw’s condition. It has neither improved nor deteriorated. There are days the bleeding stops but there are days the bleeding resumes. Physically he remains weak because of the loss appetite. But, mentally he is still alert and able to converse without any problem.

Our sister A-Fung is still in the hospital. The doctor has drained the fluid from her lungs and she is now off the respirator. She can breathe better and has begun walking albeit slowly. She has also begun rounds of chemotherapy. Physically she is weak but spiritually she remains strong, keeping her faith in Jesus.

Three persons in three different conditions! One is improving, one is maintaining, and one is struggling. But, as we learn from today’s message, all receive the same and sufficient mercy from the same Savior. As Derek Atkins says, “God has plans for every person’s life.” His plans are not the same for every person—some are hard to take, some are easier to take—but still, they are God’s plans.

God’s plans are like today’s modern GPS which we use to show us directions and to help us avoid traffics. We cannot see the congestion miles away but this little machine can because it receives its data from a satellite. God sees and knows everything. And, He always shows us ways to get to His plans.
